During the last years I have been working in clinical research projects, specifically I have been involved in the development and clinical assessment of pilot interactive technologies for neurorehabilitation following a neurological lesion. These novel technology based approaches for motor and/or cognitive neurorehabilitation aimed at alleviating the burden of disease in people with life-lasting disabilities.
I worked as research assistant and carried out my PhD in the Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems Laboratory at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. Previously, I worked at the Physics Department of the University of Aveiro in Portugal and at the Institute of Neuroinformatics, ETH-Zürich, Switzerland.
Currently, I am project manager of research projects at the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute.
