Jakob Rogstadius is a PhD student in HCI at the University of Madeira, where he conducts research on how community generated content (such as Twitter status updates) can be leveraged to create situational awareness in crisis situations such as natural and man-made disasters. He holds a MSc in Media Technology and Engineering from the University of Linköping, Sweden. Before joining M-ITI, he worked with data visualization and other software development for companies in the financial and energy sectors, as well as in academia.
