Jayant Venkatanathan completed a B.Sc in Mathematics and a Masters in Computer Science at the Chennai Mathematical Institute, India. During the summer break after the first year into his Masters, he worked at a start-up on a problem involving Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. Jayant has been interested in Machine Learning ever since. For his Masters thesis, he worked on an English to Hindi machine translation system called Anusaaraka and was part of the development team at the project. He also likes Mathematics and Programming and is a devotee of the Ruby programming language.
