Job Purpose: 

Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (M-ITI) of the University of Madeira invites applications for the position for an IT Research Intern, to begin on August 1st 2017 in the scope of Regional Project M1420-01-0145-FEDER-000002/ RH020, co-financed by “Madeira 14-20.”

The grant is for a period of 6 months, which it can be extended for periods of 6 months until the end of the project.

Fellowship value: The monthly maintenance stipend will be 385€ net, according to the Portuguese directives from the ministry of science and education www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en).

Skills/Qualifications

- Knowledge of the most common operating systems (Microsoft windows, Mac OS X, Ubuntu Linux)
- Familiarity with IT devices: printers, projectors, access points, switches
- Familiarity with Ubuntu linux and the use of the command line
- Knowledge of Computer Networking concept: IP addresses, subnets, routes
- Basic knowledge of Network services and protocols: SSH, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, NAT, SMTP, IMAP, FTP
- Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (what’s a virtual machine)
