Electronics Prototyping of Interactive Installations

The project Madeira Life, a collaboration of Madeira-ITI, Madeira Tecnopolo, ZON Madeira, and Carnegie Mellon University, is searching for an enthusiastic student or recently graduated student with a background in electronics to work on this project for 3 months in a paid internship. The candidate should be interested in electronic prototyping using tools such as Arduino and Processing.

The work in this internship will be hands on, in close collaboration with the project’s team members, and under the supervision of one of the current team members. Duties include: analyzing specific problems, development and evaluation of mixed software/hardware systems for innovative research prototypes in Madeira Life.

The successful candidate will:

• Have strong written and spoken English skills.
• Have either BSc or MSc (current Master students are welcome, but please consider your workload) with strong technical background.
• Preferably have knowledge and experience in connecting sensors and embedded systems to computers to produce physical interactive installations or systems.
• Have willingness to learn and enthusiasm.

Stipend

The total stipend for this internship will be € 1500.
