Attendance for MHCI students is at the discretion of the instructor.

Students work as teams to finish a semester-long HCI project where they go through several design, implement and evaluate cycles.  Each team will develop a product/service to solve a given design problem.  Students are strongly encouraged to submit their work to international design competitions, such as the one in CHI conference.

In the beginning of the semester, each student has to propose a design direction/plan/solution for the targeted design problem.  Students who win the proposal competition will recruit other students and lead the time to execute the project plan.  Each team needs meet the instructor for individual work sessions, and to present their progress to the class.  At the end of the semester, there will be a public presentation and prototype demostration.
